Your task — in groups — is to create a brief presentation on each of the Numbered Treaties in effect in Alberta. Each group will be assigned one of the applicable treaties.
Presentations shall include:
- Date/Location it was signed
- Why the Crown wanted to sign a deal
- The promises that were made
- Why Indigenous peoples wanted to participate
- Unfulfilled promises
- Impact of the Treaty today
- Answers the question: How does the treaty recognize the status and identity of Aboriginal peoples?
