You will be tasked with writing a response or recording a 2-minute response to the following question on Flipgrid:
“What is the most important aspect in defining Canadian nationalism?”
To successfully do it, you will take notes on the following case studies (most articles contained at bottom of post):
–Former PM Harper’s views of Canadian nationalism and the Canadian military
–Hockey nationalism (and the Richard Riot) – The Hockey Sweater (either read it or watch an adaptation such as this one)
–The Oka Crisis (CBC archives for contemporary videos)
–The Great Flag Debate (Article 1, Article 2, Global coverage of the anniversary of the flag)
AFTER READING/WATCHING/ANNOTATING FOR A CATEGORY CHECK IN WITH THE GUEST TEACHER FOR A BRIEF DISCUSSION. YOU WILL DO THIS FOUR TIMES.
